The journals, yearbooks and anthologies of literary expressionism serve not only as sources on German literature of the Modern era, but can also be used for the study of the history of art, theatre, film, dance and music between 1910 and 1930, as well as European cultural transfer and the history of the reception of the German Classic and Romantic movements at the beginning of the 20th century. They are a unique body of contemporary historical evidence.
